World Storytelling Day (March 20) (All ages)

A global celebration of the art of oral storytelling!  It is celebrated every year on the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere, the first day of autumn equinox in the southern. On World Storytelling Day, as many people as possible tell and listen to stories in as many languages and at as many places as possible, during the same day and night. Participants tell each other about their events in order to share stories and inspiration, to learn from each other and create international contacts.

Canadian Storytelling Night (All ages)

 Canadian Storytelling Night, the first weekend in November, is a growing event supported by Storytellers of Canada-Conteurs du Canada, an opportunity to share Canadian stories, a time to gather at the turn of the year when the nights grow longer and colder, and a companion to World Storytelling Day in March.

 

Fairy Tales from Far and Near

The beauty of Fairytales is that they are everlasting! From them we hear what dangers may lurk, what fear is, how to face it and how to overcome it. There are often humble beginnings and happy endings complete with true love. We learn to trust the guidance of wise old crones and wise old men even when they are disguised. We enter into a world of bravery and courage

where good hearts triumph over evil. What’s not to love?

The folk and fairy tales I tell come from all around the world.

They are bewitching, beguiling, witty and silly, scary and hilarious!

Want your very own concert? In your own home with friends and family?

That is easily arranged! You invite the audience to an intimate performance,

provide some goodies, sit back and enjoy stories and songs.

The teller will bring her own hat for donations for sharing her craft.
